            <description>These lesson plans were developed by the Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE) which was established to improve economic education in the U.S.  Although the lessons are oriented toward high school students, they can be used for first year Economics classes.  Users are permitted to copy the information for classroom use.  The lesson plans contain lesson objectives, teaching and discussion ideas, interactive discussion ideas, small group discussion problems, and definitions.   Specific issues covered include:  Externalities, Property rights, Transaction costs, Cost/benefit analysis, and Tragedy of the commons.</description>
