Tony Bates' personal collection of ePortfolio references.״Welcome to my personal site for resources in e-learning and distance education. It is personal because it contains the resources I have found useful and interesting. I focus mainly on resources associated with or relevant to post-secondary education. This site is meant as a resource for students, faculty and academic administrators interested in e-learning. Although I have overall responsibility for this site, I am helped by other experts in distance education and e-learning, who provide additional resources and links, and manage some of the discussions. The priority for all posts on this site is quality. All selected publications have been personally read either by me or by my collaborators. They are chosen for their relevance and value to teaching well with technology.

ePortfolio Day of Planning

This post-conference website supports attendees to the August 13, 2009 Day of Planning and acts as a source of information and support for those who simply could not attend the conference. How to use this site: On the left navigation you will find links to each section, which includes as much of the material as possible - slides, supplemental handouts, case studies, worksheets, and videos as applicable. We encourage you to use these items at your school or campus as you plan for and implement ePortfolios. Best use for your own Day of Planning: The ePortfolio Day of Planning was carefully balanced to include an overview, hands-on workshops, a panel discussion, “5-minutes-of-acclaim” sessions, and the closing. Workshops provided guided instruction, time-on-task, and time for discussions. Going through the steps in the order provided, and doing so in a group setting will provide for the best experience. Credits: Many thanks to all who helped pull this together. The Planning Committee (Maggie Beers, Helen Chen, Una Daly, Kevin Kelly, John Whitmer, and Gerry Hanley) put much effort into organizing the ePortfolio Day of Planning. Marie Andrews and Joel Bennett provided the documents and videos, and Don Strand and Kristin Boice provided architect and design support. And a special thanks to all the presenters who were willing to share their theories, philosophies, processes, and procedures. Supplemental Materials: In February 2009 we organized an ePortfolio Day of Dialogue wherein we had a wide range of presenters sharing their expertise in short time slots and quite a bit of information was shared. Find them (if available) at http://teachingcommons.cdl.edu/eportfolio/resources/eportdodgrid.html/Opens new windos.
