'DataAnalysis is a general purpose iPad App for the plotting and fitting of all types of data that can be formulated as x,y pairs. The program can be used easily by both students and professionals. It is particularly useful for quick analyses of various types of data by curve fitting, value prediction via a standard curve, and analysis of kinetic data including enzyme kinetics.Data can be entered directly via the keyboard or imported from the Mail App as a text file (.txt), and comma separated value file (.csv). In addition, data can be imported via drag and drop within iTunes. Data files in txt, csv and native formats can be imported directly from Dropbox.After data entry the user has the option to average, baseline correct, and/or normalize the data before plotting and fitting.Plotting of the data is as simple as pressing the Plot button. The axes are autoscaled and the graph is immediately ready to add to a document or presentation. The user has a variety of options to customize the graph by altering the axes, axes labels, graph title, and changing the symbol, its size and color.The data can be fit to a variety of mathematical equations by non-linear regression including simple functions such as linear, 2nd and 3th order polynomials, power, exponential, log functions. Data can also be fit to more complex equations for such processes as radioactive decay, enzyme kinetics, 1st and 2nd order chemical reactions, as well as gaussian, logistics and surge functions. The point of this stair is that students can work their way through it on their own. A+Click Math Self-study Tests and Skill Assessment for Grade 1 to Grade 12. It includes more than 1000 challenging problems and answers and tons of illustrations. The practice tests adapt to student ability. This website has a graduated set of problems, starting from very simple, to quite difficult. To progress to a new level, you have to answer five consecutive questions correctly. The questions are appropriate to elementary students; almost any second grader could answer the easiest. Calibrated Peer Review (CPR) is a program, for networked computers, that enables frequent writing assignments without any increase in instructor work. In fact, CPR can reduce the time an instructor now spends reading and assessing student writing. CPR offers instructors the choice of creating their own writing assignments or using the rapidly expanding assignment library. If you believe in constructivist learning, writing is the most important tool that you have. But if you have a class of 300 students, grading essays challenges even the true believer. Calibrated Peer Review (CPR)can be used in classes of any size. CPR is based on the model of peer review in science. The student reads a document, either on-line or hard copy, then writes about it. When the student has demonstrated competence as a reviewer, the program delivers three peer documents on for review. The student answers content and style questions and assigns scores. Finally, the student does a self-review. The student grade comes from writing and reviewing. Even though the program is only in its third year, approximately 100,000 students have used it. Although CPR was designed for use in large chemistry classes, experience has shown that it can serve in many other disciplines, as well. Currently, business, chemistry, economics, English, and life science instructors are using CPR in college, graduate and professional, high schools and middle schools. CPR was developed in the Chemistry Department at U.C.L.A. with funding provided by the National Science Foundation and Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
