Through this stand-alone instructional resource (StAIR), high school students will be able to quiz themselves on key terms and events during the 1960s Counterculture and Vietnam War era to help test their readiness for an end-of-unit assessment or semester final exam. While terms are not and should not be the ultimate end goal of any unit or lesson, mastering their definition and significance is essential in order for students to produce a high-level analysis of the time period. The intended learners are 11th grade students enrolled in a standard U.S. History course. The lesson could also be utilized with students in advanced or AP courses as well. Teachers could also use the StAIR as part of their introduction to a unit on the 1960s Counterculture and Vietnam, in addition to offering to students as a unit review tool.
