            <description>The Center for Usability in Design and Assessment (CUDA) at CSU, Long Beach conducted an on-line survey on how faculty and staff locate and collect materials for use in their classrooms or other academic uses. The findings of this survey are presented in this report. The findings should can aid in the development of a web site designed to help faculty find and integrate learning modules into teaching and to create an online community to support these activities. Report distributed in Sept 1999.</description>

            <title>Participants&apos; Evaluation of MERLOT Faculty Workshop for Peer Review of Instructional Technology</title>

            <description>Faculty from the 4 founding institutional partners participated in a 2 day workshop on developing evaluation standards for the peer review of online materials within MERLOT. There were 4 discipline areas: Biology, Business, Physics, and Teacher Education. Three weeks and five weeks after the MERLOT Faculty Workshop was completed, faculty participants were sent (via email) a survey requesting their evaluation of the workshop outcomes, processes, and prospects.. The CSU Center for Usability in Design and Assessment (CUDA) collected and analyzed the data reported below. There was a 68% response rate (34 out of 48 faculty responded). The mean ratings and range of scores for each question are presented. Report distributed March 2000.</description>

As a cooperative, MERLOT is accountable to our partners and members. Through regular evaluation and reporting out, we can keep MERLOT?s participants and Partners informed about the progress and benefits of MERLOT. The annual Measures of Success Report will provide reliable and credible evidence of MERLOT?s performance and capability to fulfill its strategic plan. MERLOT also relies upon evaluation data to continually improve its systems and programs. Formative evaluation is necessary to inform changes to system design, member services, and program development. Formative evaluation data collection will occur systematically and on a regular bases.</description>

The assessment of online community functioning will provide the MERLOT administrative team design guidelines for its development of online community communication tools. An analysis of the online communications was conducted by The Center for Usability in Design and Assessment (CUDA) at CSU, Long Beach. The communications assessed the listserv communications, threaded discussions, and posted documents between January and June 2000. Report distributed September 2000.</description>
