It is remarkable for its accessibility. Most seminal publications in science are intelligible only to expert readers. Darwin, in contrast, built his argument on simple logic and readily observed facts of nature &#8211; no special training is required to understand his work. It is a little wordy by modern standards, but definitely worth a look. All of Darwin&#8217;s work is in the public domain, and much of it is provided free for download in .txt format by the good people over at Project Gutenberg.
