4434Introductory OR (LP) Problem Statement
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=909818
This is a deliberately very small problem (problem statement) for use in introducing capabilities and methods of linear and integer programming.Graph of Small LP Example
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=909829
This is a deliberately very small problem (problem statement) for use in introducing capabilities and methods of linear and integer programming. The graph of the feasible region is shown for explanation.Fibonature - The Fibonacci Sequence in Nature
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=898895
The Fibonacci sequence a set of numbers that is formed by adding the two previous numbers. Thus, the sequence is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 etc. The golden ratio is the ratio between any 2 adjacent numbers in the sequence, which approaches 1.618 as you go further down the sequence. Nature has found the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio to be the most efficient ways to grow and form itself; this concept is called the path of least resistance. Because of this path of least resistance, the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio can be found throughout many forms of nature, such as pinecones, succulents, and nautilus shells.Lesson 5 - Polynomials
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=859231
This lesson received an honorable mention in the 2014 SoftChalk Lesson Challenge.'We have seen quadratic functions which are either concave up or concave down, but we may need more flexibility than that. In this section we are going to discuss higher orderpolynomial functions and models. Linear functions are actually a first order polynomial and quadratics are a second order polynomial.'Section 3 - Introduction to Linear Functions
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=859233
This lesson won an honorable mention in the 2014 SoftChalk Lesson Challenge. This lesson is an introduction to linear functions. Topics included are: Topic 1: Definitions of Relations and FunctionsTopic 2: Domain and Range of FunctionsTopic 3: Vertical Line TestTopic 4: Function NotationMAT 155 Statistical Analysis - What's the Message?
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=859261
This lesson received an honorable mention in the 2014 SoftChalk Lesson Challenge.'Have you ever wondered if we're really alone in the universe? Would we even recognize a message from someone from outer space if we received one?Well, some scientists have pondered those very questions, and through their research, they have accumulated some interesting findings. In this lesson, you'll "meet" one such scientist and learn how he thinks we just might be able to tell if "someone out there" is trying to communicate with us.When you finish the lesson, you will have:explained the process to follow to determine if linguistic information is being communicated in a packet of signals.constructed a frequency distribution of the most occurring signal in a packet of signals.reported the number of occurrences of the most occurring signal in a given packet in both absolute and relative terms.decided, based on quantitative evidence, whether a packet of signals is gibberish or is conveying knowledge.stated assumptions made regarding Information Theory or the process of applying Information Theory.summarized the evidence used to determine whether a packet of signals is gibberish or is conveying knowledge.'MANOVA
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=824029
MANOVA is the sixth volume in a series of Advanced Educational Statistics. A straightforward, clear teaching style for learning educational statistics is presented in this volume. A narrative, along with videos, output data sets and sample data sets are included. As with previous volumes in the series, the video presentations are the focal point and will be especially helpful for guiding the learner through the process of conducting statistical analyses using SPSS and interpreting SPSS output data.A companion iBook is available for free from the iTunes Bookstore: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/manova/id657187300?mt=13Multiple Linear Regression
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=823992
The fourth volume in a series of Advanced Educational Statistics, Multiple Linear Regression builds on the innovative teaching methodology for learning educational statistics. A narrative, along with videos, output data sets and sample data sets are included. As with previous volumes in the series, the video presentations are the focal point and will be especially helpful for guiding the learner through the process of conducting statistical analyses using SPSS and interpreting SPSS output data.A companion iBook is available for free from the iTunes Bookstore: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/multiple-linear-regression/id657084933?mt=11Non-Parametric Analyses
