            <title>Native Health Database</title>
            <link>http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=87789</link>
<description>The University of New Mexico (UNM) Health Sciences Center Library (HSC) and the Indian Health Service (IHS) entered a joint venture to develop the Native Health Research Database (NHRD). The NHRD entries represent resource documents related to the health issues of all North American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations. This Web site provides access to the NHRD and information pertaining to health and medical issues of the AI/AN population. Health in the AI/AN world is a holistic concept, embracing a balance of mind, body, and spirit. The scope of the NHRD, however, is limited to contemporary articles, studies, and reports focused on the medical (physical and psychological) aspects of AI/AN health. The database entries cover a time period from approximately 1970 to the Present.</description>
