Jules Verne Voyager

The Jules Verne Voyager has a wealth of interactive maps of solar system planets. The UNAVCO university consortium server compiles data to create maps using a Java applet.Planet and selected moon maps include information derived from satellite missions, impact information, latitudes/longitudes, and planetary features. A sampling of Earth maps include topography, crustal stress, tectonic plates, and development of the ocean floor. Moreover, maps can be overlaid. For instance, the Earth's fault lines can be be combined with earthquake, and moment tensor maps. Once created, maps can be saved in gif format or given a reference URL. Pan and zoom functions can be used on maps.

A ferromagnetic material's hysteresis loop is simulated as a function of coercivity, saturation field, and remanence. The change of magnetic domain order is illustrated throughout the hysteresis loop cycle.

The simulation shows distortion of the strontium titanate perovskite crystal structure below a critical temperature. The second order phase transition created by oxygen plane rotation is shown with changes in entropy and Gibbs free energy plots.
