4434CellSim.xls
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=79093
This is a discrete event simulation program on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. It operates through a Macro written in Visual Basic. There are two basic elements: Machines and Storage Areas. Machines can have many different processes, changeover times, etc. Probability distributions of processing time, failures, and defective items are quite flexible. Detailed instructions are included.CritPath.xls
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=80785
Constructs a critical path diagram on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, using a Visual Basic macro.PredInt.xls

Regression analysis can be used to make forecasts. Prediction intervals put confidence intervals around a forecast. Microsoft Excel's statistical tool pack does not do this. I wrote a macro in Visual Basic to do multiple regression with interactive prediction intervals, meaning that the intervals are automatically recalculated whenever you change the value of a predictor (independent) variable, or the confidence level. The macro also produces scatter plots and a normal probability plot. (Excel's normal probability plot is incorrect.)DecisionTree.xls
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=80787
Constructs a decision tree and indicates the optimal choices. Includes two kinds of branches: probability and choice.Excel 2007 compatible Prediction Intervals for Excel
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=274491
NOW COMPATIBLE WITH EXCEL 2007 AND EXCEL 2003.The Regression tool in Excel's Data Analysis tool package does not calculate prediction intervals. The PredInt 2008-2003.xls spreadsheet contains a macro to do that. Features include a Normal Probability Plot, residual plots, line-fit plots, and standardized residuals that match the ones calculated in most commercial statistics packages (Excel's program calculates them differently). Outliers and influential observations are also flagged.Queue.xls
http://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=80783
Teaches Queuing to and a little Simulation, using a Visual Basic macro in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Contains three analytical queuing models, plus a worksheet linked to a Visual Basic macro that runs a simulation of a single-stage, multi-server, finite-capacity queue. Service times and inter-arrival times are very flexible, modeled by the Gamma distribution, which includes Exponential as a special case.
