Text of Learning Exercise: CLICK "go to the material." CLICK "Enter the Site." Select ONE of the following to write a 6-8 page paper: The Eve of the War, The War Years, OR The Aftermath. If you selected THE EVE OF WAR, select contemporary accounts for both Augusta County, Virginia and Franklin County, PA and describe how each county viewed slavery and the fear of an impending war over slavery before 1861. If you select THE WAR YEARS, select contemporary accounts for both Augusta County, VA and Franklin County, PA and describe how the years of war from 1861-1865, affected the people living in each county. If you select THE AFTERMATH, select contemporary accounts for both Augusta County, VA and Franklin County, PA and describe how the end of the Civil War affected each county.
