Exercise

Teacher will add the following words and their definitions to the word bank:ligament, bone marrow, skeleton, joint. Teacher will explain the various components of the skeletal system by using colred transaprencies, and a porkchop to help students feel and understand the cross sections of a bone with bone marrow. Teacher will use life size skeleton to explain the various joints. Teacher will now have a volunteer read the worksheets and stop reader periodically to explain concepts. Worksheet 1 A. Write True or False 1. YOur skeleton is made up of bones 2. Bones are hard all the way through 3. Cartilage keeps some bones from rubbing against each other. 4. All bones are the same size and shape. 5. The bones in your head are called ribs. B. Write a sentence to answer each question. 1. How is the inside of the bones differnt from the outside? 2. What can cartilage do that bones cannot do? C. Write one or more sentences to answer the questions. Look at a picutr of a human skeletaon. What parts of your body do you think have small bones? What part do you think have long bones?
