VITAL INFORMATION Subject(s): Science Topic or Unit of Study: The Metric System Grade/Level: 7 Objective: Students will complete a scavenger hunt centered around the metric system. Summary: Students go on a scavenger hunt around the campus to find cards with questions on the metric system. The student team that finds and answers the most cards wins. IMPLEMENTATION Learning Context: Students are learning about the metric system. Procedure: Prior to the class the teacher will hide cards that contain questions about the metric system on them. The students will be instructed on what to do. They will then be broken up into groups to begin the scavenger hunt. When they find a card they must answer the question on in correctly in order to move on and find another card. The team that has the most cards at the end of the class wins the competition. Differentiated Instruction: Sample Student Products: Collaboration: Time Allotment: 1 class period. 50 Min. per class.
