Text of Learning Exercise: Through the ?Igneous Rocks Tour? you have been introduced to the fundamental
characteristics of this rock type, and given a basic framework by which igneous
rocks may be classified. After taking the self-test at the end of the rock
tour, study the 10 ?unknown? rock samples provided in class. You may take the
samples back to your workstation (one at a time) to use the resources available
in the rock tour to help you classify these samples. On the answer sheet
provided in class, write your name and the correct answers in the spaces
