This website is an excellent enhancer for a lesson on DNA. It contains a wealth of informaton, pictures and video about DNA including its discovery, structure, function etc. I would probably use a website like this after my lectures on DNA. I could have students research their own questions about DNA since the site is so easy to navigate. For instance, if students wanted to know more about how DNA works, they could go to that part of the website and watch the animation and report back with what they find.

This website is very useful in learning human anatomy and in evolution when learning about comparative anatomy. The site allows you to choose specific species and body parts and shows a side by side diagram of the bone structures to show evolution. To use this I could start by choosing a human, an ape, and a dog skeleton all side by side and ask the students to identify which is which. This will show how similar so many species are. After I can have students look themselves and see how similar species are on their own. It would be fun and informative for them.

This is a great resource when learning about natural selection. It goes through an entire mini activity where it shows a video of a tree with the famous black and white moths in London during the industrial revolution. The activity describes the process of natural selection and how it works. This could be used as a full in class activity and after the class can come together and discuss what they learned about natural selection. This is fun, interactive, and memorable for students.

This is a site which gives some vocabulary words in the subject of evolution. This would be useful mainly as a review once the topic is near an end or as soon as the vocabulary words are learned. It gves useful fill in the blank hints so students can learn the terminology before they learn the more advanced parts of the topic of evolution.

This is a useful site which goes over the nitrogen cycle in detail. It would be good to use duringhte ecology unit once students learn the nitrogen cycle. It shows pictures, diagrams, and outlines vocabulary words and key concepts. The site also allows you to print material to hand out. This could be used as a pretest which students could go back and check once they actually learn about the nitrogen cycle. The site also shows articles in journals and the news on the side which are related to this topic. It would be a good place to allow students to do their own research and expand their knowledge.
