I really like this lesson plan. Because it is an entire course, instead of a single lesson, I think the pacing of the lessons and content is good. There is definitely he presence of a number of padagogical approaches. Students have the opportunity to read, view video and connect with experts and each other. The discussion creates an excellent social aspect to the course.
Students will think critically about UX, applying new knowledge they have learned in the course. Students who have never before studies UX will not be overwhelmed, but by the end will have a foundation from which to consider UX design.
The lesson also does a great job of moving the content into the real world, so that students consider UX as a part of their life and not simply a professional field. These connections will show students how the field is relevant to everyday life and work.
My favorite aspect of this lesson is that it has students identifying design problems. This skill develops their understanding of UX by having them consider problems of practice. I think doing this will help them to consider UX with regards to their own work in the class.
