Comment:

This is an excellent collection of easy to use and accessible mini-workshops on a variety of issues related to teaching online courses.  Each workshop includes opening discussion questions, a short 5-minute or less video or interactive learning object, and a few follow-up discussion questions.  These could easily be worked into a department meeting for discussion without taking up too much time.  The information is high quality and in many cases, creatively engaging.  While the majority of the videos address issues particular to online teaching and learning, many of the workshops could also be applicable to any hybrid courses or courses that include some online content.  Topics range from building community within an online course, to using different softwares and 2.0 tools, to assessment, to structuring online discussions and group activities.  There is a plethora of knowledge shared and modeled by experienced instructors.  The information is also not specific to any one discipline and could be easily adapated to meet any department's unique needs.

Technical Remarks:

Because the videos in the workshops are from a variety of web resources, you may need to update your own software, such as your browser, Java, or Flash player.
