I created this Stand Alone Instructional Resource for my students to reinforce knowledge of poetic devices and support poetry appreciation. After purchasing a classroom set of "The Rose That Grew From Concrete," I found my students to be highly engaged in the poet and his poems. This is intended to be independent practice for the student but could also be used in instruction to introduce/reteach simple poetic device terms or may be an introduction to the book. The presentation consists of navigational buttons where studens can read a short bio of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur, review poetic device terms, read his poetry, and even few some videos.
