Using Web 2.0 graphic organizers to plan and produce expository writing: UDL enhanced

Rating: 4 stars
Used in Course: Not used in course
Submitted by: Edith Erickson (Teacher (K-12)), Apr 21, 2013
Comment:

In this lesson, ELL students use online graphic organizers to prepare to write an expository piece, a how-to video on Voicethread.  Students work with the teacher to create a rubric, allowing for them to fully understand their expectations. The students would easily hooked by the "peanut butter and jelly" introduction, getting them excited to write a how-to. The steps of the lesson are easy to understand and would be used just as easily in a non-ELL environment.

Technical Remarks:

Students must have access to Creatly or SchematicMind, and Voicethread. If access isn't available, other tools could be substituted.
