Material:

Antibiotic Susceptibility

Rating: 4 stars
Used in Course: Not used in course
Submitted by: Pam Scheibel (Faculty), Feb 19, 2003
Comment: Note from the author. "This activity was written for a Microbiology course for
health science
students. However, it could be used in a variety of courses, and does not
require much background knowledge of biology or microbiology. The main
goal is to illustrate the relationship between the use of antibiotics and
the proliferation of antibiotic-resistant strains of microbes, especially
when antibiotics are improperly used. The activity can be used as
supporting material for discussions on issues surrounding the use and
misuse of antibiotics, and the increasing problem of drug-resistant
microbes."
