The ABCs of Building a Web Site

Rating: No Rating (Comment only)
Classroom Use: Used in classroom
Submitted by: Lynn Aaron (Faculty), Oct 04, 2005
Comment: This site provides basic understanding of how a Web site gets online. This
includes information about finding a host and registering for a domain name.
Later sections discuss features that distract from Web pages and suggestions on
how to promote a site. The writing style is clear and conversational, often
providing small insights that might be assumed (and therefore overlooked) by
more experienced developers.

While specifics may not be up-to-date, the site provides basic understanding and
could be a useful start for someone interested in putting up a Web site for the
first time.

I was surprised that links are not provided for several useful references.

Technical Remarks: HTML only.
