Current, highly relevant and supported by evidence- based practice/research.
Short reads, creative strategies, and clinical field activities color coded.
Very concise and to the point.
Covers many essential points in nurse education including theory, philosophy, clinical environment, technology, and evaluating learning. There is also a section on understanding the difference between a mentor and preceptor.
Concerns:
A core concept is eluded to in the introduction yet not explicitly stated. Information is accurate as the date of publication is 2015. The issue is technology changes at a high rate of speed and some of the common technologies discussed are already considered old. There is enough information provided in most areas but theories were lacking and technology was lacking as well.

Concerns:
No learner objectives needed concepts are reinforced but not progressively. Each chapter builds on the next to some extent. There is no need to identify a relationship between concepts, and it is an effective teaching tool for clinical faculty.
