Strengths:
There are two levels to this game. Users become "disease detectives" and have three missions to complete. There are investigative clues that provide information about the outbreak and ask players what the next step should be. Playing the game is informative.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
Solving the health science mysteries helps to build logic and problem solving skills. The design of this app does not really encourage replay so if this is used in a teaching setting, realize that once both levels are completed, users have basically completed the use of the app. Knowing this, the app is good for individual work, a supplemental assignment, or enhancing an already existing health science lesson.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
The app is free and is very engaging. Both levels can be completed in a day. The app is text-heavy so there will be much reading. There are links in the app that can take users to mature content so consider the users.
Concerns:
App was last updated in June 2019.
