In this paper we suggest several “field trips” to sites on the worldwide web to enhance the international financial accounting learning experience. When planning these research projects which we have coined “net lab” assignments, instructors are encouraged to tie the learning objective of the exercise to program goals and material in the course textbook.

To provide educators/students with a virtual alternative method of learning International Accounting concepts in order to stimulate discussion and to develop related cognitive skills. Provides ideas on how to use the internet to give students an international perspective on how some accounting topics/issues might be different across countries.

Concerns:: The article is 13 years old at this point. The idea is still very relevant. However, the details at this stage have most probably changed.

Strengths:: It is very easy to apply although the details on how to go about it in the examples provided have changed in the 13 years since it was published. This is a guide for the instructor and not so much for the student. Teachers and students could learn a lot in a short time.
