| Learning Goals: |
The goal of HRIX is to become the place to look for ideas on how to design or improve your HR courses. The primary audience for the HRIX is instructors teaching courses in HR and related areas, although some features may also be of value to students and HR practitioners.
| Target Student Population: |
This site has information and resources appropriate for both undergraduate and post-graduate inquiry. Introductory courses in management principles, human resource management, organizational behavior, and/or introduction to business could use this site. It would also be of value in supervisory training and workforce development. Other uses would be OR-specific advanced level courses in HR Administration, Employment Practices/Law, Recruitment and Hiring, Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development, Labor Relations, Health, Safety, & Security, etc.
| Prerequisite Knowledge or Skills: |
Exposure to basic human resource management and organizational behavior/development as well as motivation concepts, practices, and theories and psychology associated human resource management would facilitate academic, personal, and professional inquiry.
| Type of Material: |
Multidimensional. Content ranges from drill and practice and animation in the web based exercise component at the site to teaching notes and lecture/lesson plans. Opportunities for syllabus exchange and a fairly comprehensive HR Teaching Marketplace for one stop shopping of HR information is also a key feature. You have to visit this site to experience the richness this site affords.
| Recommended Uses: |
The site can be used for extra credit assignments, professional development, and/or homework assignment. It is an excellent link to maintain for an instructor?s web page of web resources. It is also of value for personal and professional development purposes. The site is great for finding information for research assignments, as it provides links to journals, specific articles, professional organizations, government agencies, etc.
| Technical Requirements: |
Internet access and ability to navigate the web from appropriate browser platforms.

| Strengths: |
The site is sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management and the Fisher College of Business-The Ohio State University. The excellent reputation of both institutions lends great credibility to this module.
One strength is the comprehensive nature of the site and the focus on enhancing instructional design and content. The site is well organized and structured and easy to navigate. There is a wide range of areas to cover most interests.
The web-based exercises were evaluated for Content Quality: Content Quality was clear, concise, current, and relevant. It provided accurate information, an adequate amount of material, and information useful in several situations
| Concerns: |
While the site is comprehensive in terms of overall content, some areas are not deep in material provided. It is still a relatively new site and some areas are under construction. It is useful as a resource within specific course content or assignments only. We did not find any ?stand alone? exercises.
