Evaluation and Observation

Content Quality

Rating: 5 stars
Strengths:
  • The material is clearly laid out, accurate and integrates content well.
  • The material is of high quality and is clearly and well written
  • The site holds an extensive range of materials for and student who wishes to review material.
  • Concerns:
  • The images, though while clear, are rather small, the ability to see a larger version of image would be helpful

  • Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool

    Rating: 4.8 stars
    Strengths:
  • Provides a good range of information to aid student understanding
  • The site provides an amazing source of information and practice situations for students
  • The self-test feature allows students to test how well they remember the structures
  • Concerns:
  • The text in the Lab section of the site can be a little dense, additional formatting of the text would make it more readable. Also, highlighting the features identified in the pictures would help users find specific information more quickly.

  • Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty

    Rating: 4.5 stars
Strengths: The links are all complete and the site is relatively easy to navigate to major units
    Concerns:
  • There are some inconsistencies in the navigation that make it difficult to move between major units while the content without returning the top level table of contents.
  • When at unit tables of contents, the user can only progress to the next unit, not to the previous unit, and the next unit is not identified.
  • The answers to the self-tests are visible on page when the question is loaded when viewed in 1024x768 pixel display. It would be helpful if they were off the screen (as the author intended)

  • Other Issues and Comments: Excellent website for instructors in this field
