Evaluation and Observation

Content Quality

Rating: 3 stars
Strengths: The plethora of ideas, activities and reviewed teaching materials provides a
wide array of materialas for teachers and students. The site also offers
several ideas and activities that integrate learning English with everyday
social situations; ordering in a restaurant, shopping, cooking, dating, etc.
Concerns: While the site has been well planned in the development. Many of the chats rooms
on the student side of the site did not work. Throughout the site, many links
were broken. Without direct teacher instruction, an ELL student would be
extremely frustrated with this site.

Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool

Rating: 4.5 stars
Strengths: Great resource to provide pre-service teachers, K-12, and practicing teachers of
students who are ESL.
Concerns: The amount of reading may be a hindrance to persons who have ESL. Broken links
and lack of current discussions in the internet's www portion of
the student side.

Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty

Rating: 4.5 stars
Strengths: Easy to use; well organized, high visual clarity.
Concerns: The amount and level of reading appears too difficult for a student with ESL to
use independently.ELL students will need assistance to complete the activities
within the site. Teachers may spend more time looking at the site than finding
quality material for instruction.
