Content Quality

Rating: 5 stars
Strengths: The worksheets, exercises and assignments contained in 1001 Feuilles represent
the collaboration of French faculty who, while teaching the same authors and
works, offer a novel and eclectic collection of lessons. This resource is
remarkable for its practicality and for breaking the mold of teaching in
isolation, offering users fresh ideas on traditional materials. It is primarily
a teacher resource with ready to use activities on films such as Amélie, Les
Choristes, Amistad, Truffaut's L'Enfant Sauvage and others. There are cloze
exercises for songs by the likes of Charles Trenet, Serge Gainsbourg and Les
Rita Mitzouko. Literature faculty will be interested in the thematic worksheets
on topics like autobiography, war throughout the ages, and such common topics as

the theme of ambition in Flaubert, Stendhal and Balzac. There are whole units on
Flaubert's Un Coeur simple and Maupassant's La Parure.

Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool

Rating: 4 stars
Strengths: The authors of the literary materials are classics and therefore
extremely useful. The activities lend themselves to face to face or online
courses as well as to review for independent learners. The film and music
activities are also diverse in their genres and styles and include popular,
well-known titles and artists. There are practical exercises such as the
dictionary lesson and interesting ideas on thematic units. The site contains a
very useful webliography and a bibliography.
Concerns:

Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty

Rating: 4.5 stars
Strengths: The site is very easy to use with an emphasis on functionality. It is very easy
to contact the authors to contribute worksheets. The worksheets are all in an
