Target Student Population:
High school and above. General and continuing education.
Prerequisite Knowledge or Skills:
The quantity and, for the most part, the quality of the citations is impressive.
It would be helpful to have a brief audio clip of selected classical and opera entries.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Students of cinema as well as lifelong learners have a one-stop reference for movie sound scores sourced in classical and opera music.
Currently citations date to 2004. An update is needed to include the vast amount of activity over the past several years.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
The Home page is user friendly. The purpose of the site is clearly stated and sources for referenced citations are clearly verified. The navigation bar allows for seamless access to the composer and movie title indices. The author is to be commended for providing a link for user comments, suggestions, and feedback.
At times the user may become lost within the various categories finding it a bit bumpy to retrieve the Home page. The FAQ link, located in the navigation bar, is currently unavailable.
Other Issues and Comments:
Overall a very useful site for persons needing such a comprehensive list of titles representative of this rather specialized field in cinema studies.
