The site is primarily an annotated portal to a wealth of other resources about international business. The Village of 1000 provides tabular and textual material about world demographics scaled to a total population of 1000 people.
Outstanding resource for any student required to research a country or international business issues. Faculty would also find it useful as a research tool.

The Village of 1000 has the learning goal of seeing the demographics of the world on a scale that is more easily grasped than when looking at the large scale numbers of the world total population. The rest of the site is intended to provide resources for developing country profiles by gathering links to or about international business, international organizations, professional associations, and other international resources. It also provides linkages to external sites to help students become aware of international job opportunities, legal constraints in different countries, international travel advisories, and cultural differences.
Target Student Population:
This could be used with undergraduate and graduate students in an international business course or a course that includes a component about international business. This module would also be appropriate for an introductory class in international business.
Prerequisite Knowledge or Skills:
Basic to advanced understanding of business concepts and terminology would be needed to use many of the resources.
Everything International provides a comprehensive view of the legal, regulatory,cultural, and political environment regarding international business. The website: (1) Provides a collection of materials the are inclusive with regard to each area, with web links and hotlinks embedded within text with explanations provided; (2) Covers virtually all areas of international business, including professional and trade associations, legal regulations, company information, and product classification systems; (3) Gathers together underneath one overarching rubric material that would be time consuming to individually aggregate.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Everything International gives students a broad picture of the constraints and opportunities that they will encounter when doing business with a foreign country, and the potential conflicts when visiting abroad. It provides students with resources regarding: (1) International law and library locations; (2) Employment listings and study abroad opportunities; (3) Encyclopedias and textbooks that to conduct international research; and(4) A comprehensive set of statistics on countries around the world.
The site does not provide a collection of links to global simulation web sites, nor does it appeal to a variety of learning styles (auditory, visual).
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
The site is exceptionally well organized. On page links allow easy navigation. Annotations provide a good overview of where the links will take you so that you can determine their relevance. Based on the posted dates, it is frequently checked and up-dated.
