Evaluation and Observation

Content Quality

Rating: 4.5 stars
Strengths: The tutorial provides adequate background and context for both annotations and abstracts with multiple examples. The use of interesting graphics helps to make connections between the subject matter and concepts. The tutorial provides broad definitions first, then moves to greater detail in a logical manner.
Concerns: Some content might be displayed in a less condensed manner to improve effectiveness.

Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool

Rating: 4.25 stars
Strengths: The learning objectives were introduced and concepts logically and progressively presented.
Concerns: The amount of content presented per slide was at times overwhelming. It may help to list single bullet points on individual slides with less narration per slide. It was difficult to read the abstract and annotation examples and then process the lengthy narration simultaneously.

Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty

Rating: 4.25 stars
Strengths: The tutorial is easy to use and provided clear instructions. For the most part, graphics selected were appropriate and appealing.
Concerns: The tutorial has no interactivity. For some longer slides, the graphics could be switched more frequently or highlighting used to emphasize points discussed in the narration.

Other Issues and Comments: The slide which shows the credits does not match the narration for this page, causing a disconnect for users.
