Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
This tutorial contains "Test Your Understanding' quizzes that provide immediate feedback, lots of interactive activities which engage and assist the learner in processing the information, and multiple links that provide additional information to the teaching module. Images are included on each page to provide a visual cue to the learner.
Concerns:
On one of the Test Your Understanding slides, the choices are Past or Current. The user can select one or the other, when, in reality, the answer for every question is actually both. I didn't see how I could select both, so there would never be any way to totally correctly answer this quiz.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
This tutorial is extremely easy to maneuver and navigate. The learner can easily follow the lessons through each module and the site contains a progress bar at the bottom of the page to guide the learner through their progress. Each module page has large font with bold wording to illustrate key concepts, making reading the material effortless. Information markers on included to give a more detailed look at particular issues the module highlights.
Concerns:
Some links throughout the tutorial are "Not Found" and need to be redirected. The contact email is no longer a valid link and needs to be replaced. Also, links that open in the same window as the tutorial cause the learner to repeat the tutorial from the beginning after reading the opened link.
