Overview:: A website targeted at teachers of Grades 2 through 5 who need to add a cultural diversity team activity to their cultural diversity units.
Type of Material:: Assignment
Recommended Uses:: • In F2F or online class. • Team project.
Technical Requirements:: Web browser. Works on IE 6 and up (tested using Netrenderer). Tested successfully on Google Chrome 30, Safari 6, and Firefox 23 all on MacBook Pro
Identify Major Learning Goals:: Students will learn various technology skills, work in groups, learn about various cultures, and prepare a presentation.
Target Student Population:: • Grade 2 through 5
Prerequisite Knowledge or Skills:: Use of a web browser, and various presentation tools such as Powerpoint

Rating:
Strengths:: • This is a strong package of materials that can be easily integrated into any 2-5 curriculum.
Concerns:: • While countries from 5 continents are represented, not a single country in Africa is represented in the material. • There is a message at the bottom of each page stating “You do not have permission to add comments,” but no discernible way that a user could add comments. It would be beneficial to be able to add comments.

Rating:
Strengths:: • A complete package of materials that includes resources that can be used by the students, careful instructions for teachers, linkages to Bloom’s taxonomy, and worksheets that guide student learning. This material provides an effective grading rubric for ease of evaluation
Concerns:: • Learning objectives found on the Teacher’s page are specific to North Carolina grades 2 – 4. Users in other areas might have to connect to their own state standards.

Rating:
Strengths:: • This material is a complete package of teaching tools for a web quest project on multiculturalism. The website is easy to step through and is linked to resource materials. The menu is easy to navigate and resources are easy to access.
Concerns:: None

Other Issues and Comments:: • Excellent material that compiles all resources to create a lesson in multiculturalism integrating learning objectives along with differentiation and Bloom's taxonomy. • A note stating somewhere that teachers should adapt learning objectives to their district or state requirements would be helpful in making the material more generalized.
