State of Michigan Automotive Strategic Plan

State of Michigan Automotive Strategic Plan

This 30-year strategic plan has been put into place by mandate from Gov. Rick Snyder to further elevate Michigan's status as a global automotive industry leader. Through a collaborative relationship between the auto industry and public sector, recommendations were drawn from auto industry consultants and a new direction has been drafted for the Michigan-based auto industry. The plan includes four phases, with framework identifying Michigan's aim to retain and attract leading-edge technology/automation companies and talent, invest public funds, and attract private capital in a rapidly evolving automotive industry. With changes in demographics and vehicle market, vehicle design, connected and automated vehicles, material technologies, powertrain and propulsion technologies, manufacturing, and supply chain and logistics systems, the plan offers a guide for collaboration with automotive companies.
