The aim of “Exploring Emerging Technologies for Lifelong Learning and Success (#EmTechMOOC)” is to identify the value and implications of using established and emerging technology tools for personal and professional growth,  and to provide strategies for lifelong learning in order to keep pace with technology change. The learning environment is structured around the 4Cs of 21st century skills, including Communication and Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking. The course provides a curated selection of resources in each “C” that faculty can use to improve student engagement in their courses. Participants follow a personal learning pathway and progress through hands-on Discovery Exercises that are relevant to ALL learners. A personalized ePortfolio is developed to display artifacts created through the MOOC and to showcase Digital Badges earned to demonstrate a learner’s accomplishments. Another strong feature of this Coursera-based MOOC is its supportive community of practice consisting of like-minded faculty and learners from SUNY and beyond.
