Do open educational resources improve student learning? A recent research study
Dr. Phillip Grimaldi, director of research at Rice University and OpenStax, covers the recent publication “Do open educational resources improve student learning? Implications of the access hypothesis,” by Grimaldi, Basu Mallick, Waters, and Baraniuk, which was published in the journal PLOS ONE in March 2019.
By using simulation, the researchers were able to determine the necessary conditions for detecting the effects of OER adoption in a highly controlled manner.
