Discussion for French for Business and Economics
Sophie Queuniet (Faculty)
This site is placed under "Business French". It could also be filed under "Teacher Resources" since it can be used in all sorts of French classes (with or without emphasis on business).
"French for Business and Economics" is a repository of hundreds of sites related to issues of commerce, international relations, employment, politics, transportation, banking, etc... in the French and Francophone worlds.
Not all links bring you to sites written in French (there are quite a few in English, which could be useful for beginners, and some in other languages such as Arabic for some of the African countries).
There are some very useful links for teaching, such as IRIS in the "Relations internationales" section of France that offers valuable statistics and videos; some other links are probably not the best choices (such as tourist guides in English).
The site needs to be seriously updated. For instance, most of the links in the sections "Foires et expositions" and "Commerce extérieur" for France are obsolete. The new http addresses for these links, however, can easily be found with the help of a search engine.
