Description:
This web site provides primary sources, short essays, and learning activities that focus on the American Revolution and its immediate aftermath. It is organized into five areas: Infopedia, Forum (currently disabled), Fun Zone, Teacher's Corner, and Links. The Infopedia section includes transcriptions of primary sources, photographs from Valley Forge and Washington’s Crossing Historical Park, brief essays about important historical figures and major battles, a map of the new nation, an essay on the history of the American flag, a few traditional recipes from the period, and a bibliography. The Fun Zone consists of four interactive activities that test student knowledge about the revolutionary period. One of those activities is "The Flames of Rebellion," a war strategy game for two players who represent the British or the Colonial battling each other for control of the thirteen colonies.
