| Description: |
This learning resource is a tutorial designed to teach the concept of arterial blood gas interpretation. It is one module of several in EKG skillbuilders. The author identified two learning objectives: - Be able to name the three components that determine the ABG diagnosis
- Correctly diagnose 10 ABGs as being one of the following: Normal; respiratory alkalosis; respiratory acidosis; metabolic alkalosis; metabolic acidosis; combined alkalosis; combined acidosis; partly compensated respiratory acidosis; partly compensated respiratory alkalosis; partly compensated metabolic acidosis; partly compensated metabolic alkalosis; compensated respiratory acidosis; compensatted respiratory alkalosis; compensated metabolic acidosis;compensated metabolic alkalosis.
It was last updated in 1999, but the concepts are still valid. There is a pretest and post-test that are interactive and functional; however, a couple of the graphics are broken. This learning resource may be used for review by nursing, medical, and respiratory therapy students.
