Using visuals from Native American culture this lessons takes students on a journey to help them better understand the health disparities within this specific population. Viewers will interact with graphics and activities.

Learners will be able to:

  • Explain the concept of the healing circle.
  • Discuss the role of assumptions in the healthcare encounter.
  • Summarize the health disparities that affect American Indians.
  • Explain the factors that contribute to health disparities in American Indians.
  • Suggest effective strategies for providers working with American Indian populations.
