Description:

In the introductory part of this program, the authors differentiate the open Web and common Web search engines from online resources available to library users. A comparison of scholarly and popular journals follows, and the program concludes with a section on keyword and subject searching. An opportunity for interaction is given about halfway through. Students are asked to look at two research topics, type in relevant keywords into free-text forms, and then compare their choices with lists created by the authors. Back and next buttons appear on each page, enabling review and forward movement.
