This is a QR code. A QR Code is a 2-dimensional barcode, which has encoded in it a URL (web address), text, or other information. It can be read by a QR code scanner, including QR scanner smartphone apps. Once you have an app installed on your smartphone, open the app and hold your phones camera over a QR code to read it. Most QR codes youll come across have a URL encoded, so chances are when you read the QR code it will take you to a web page.

Writer Margaret Atwood once said, "The answers you get from literature depend on the questions you pose." Reading literature is not just a passive activity. It requires active engagement of your mind to discover what it means and why it matters. There are different ways to read literature and different questions to ask as you read it.
During this course, you will discover skills for closely reading and interpreting literature. You will explore the different forms of literature- poetry, fiction, theater, and nonfiction- and how the elements of each form reveal meaning. For example, rhyme and rhythm can contribute meaning to a poem, and characters and dialogue reveal meaning in a play.
As you go through the course, think about what you like to read and what stands out to you when you read. Notice how your own life experiences make you react to works of literature in certain ways. You won't necessarily love everything you read, but it's more important to notice how you respond to it and why. By closely reading and writing about literature, you will learn to explore your own thoughts and feelings more deeply and to approach literature from other viewpoints in addition to your own.
