Description:

This website is a tutorial for the study of mechanical waves.  It offers a great review on mechanical waves describing longitudinal and transverse waves.  Interactive activities are also found in this site.  One section, Wave Adders, allows the visitor to visualize when two waves interfere with each other.  It allows you to manipulate the wave's amplitude, frequency, and phase shift.  Finally, it also allows the user to set the trigonometric function of sine and cosine.  Another section describes the parts of a wave.  Through pictures, and interactive diagrams, the viewer can see the crest and trough, amplitude and wavelength, and frequency of mechanical waves.
