Description:

Although it was designed to support a particular textbook, this site provides a great many items useful to anyone studying American poetry from the Civil War to the present. There are original critical articles and sometimes links to selected poems, but possibly the most useful resources are supporting materials like Langston Hughes' "The Negro Artist and the Racial Mountain" and a photo essay about World War I. An index to the poets included makes it easy to locate materials.
