Description:

The UCLA Phonetics Lab researches sounds from many languages and describes these sounds as a part of the language's linguistic system.  The Lab studies production, acoustics and perception of speech.  This page links to some of the Lab's demonstrations, illustrations and screen shots.  Included are animations of vocal fold vibration during speech and an animation of articulators during speech.
