Description:

This is a free, online textbook that was developed from course notes.  According to the site, "The course notes of Marian Ivan from the University of Bucharest, Romania, present some theoretical problems related to the Continuum Mechanics, of particular importance to Applied Geomechanics, Geological Engineering and Structural Geology. For example, the theory of plates and shells is discussed in detail. The book should be a complement to the books of George Backus and Brian Kennett, already available on Samizdat Press. The notes are divided into 13 parts each of which is about 50-100 KB of pdf."
