This applet facilitates investigation of confidence intervals. The display shows a large jar of balls, some blue and some orange. At the user’s instigation, a sample of balls is taken from the jar. In a plot below, the applet draws a bar representing a confidence interval for the percentage of orange balls in the jar as computed from the sample.
