Dr. Kaler discusses his vision for teaching and learning at Stony Brook. He covers the need for facilities to support flexible approaches to teaching and technology to encourage student interaction. Dr. Kaler discusses the;

* Evolving role of faculty in the classroom and in distance education, and the relative workload for teaching online and in the classroom.
