| Description: |
This is a free, online textbook offered by the Global Text Project at University of Georgia. This book "provides a quick overview of the functionality of Microsoft Word 2002. MS-Word is the word processor of the MS-Office XP productivity software suite. The emphasis in this unit is on giving an overview of the basic knowledge required to work productively with Word, rather than a detailed step-by-step introductory tutorial. On the other hand, there is so much functionality in Word that it is outside the scope of this overview to deal in depth with the more advanced topics. It is, in our view, better to learn about the advanced features as your experience grows and you develop a particular need for a specific functionality such as mail merge, collaborative document development, tables with calculations, VBA automation or web/XML integration. After working your way through this module, you should be able to: · Understand the basic concepts of word processing and the screen layout of Word. · Create, load, save and print your document. · Enter, edit and format text. · Incorporate tables, clip-art and graphics in your document. · Use the grammar and spelling tools to assist with proofing your document."
