Ping and traceroute

Logo for Ping and traceroute
This presentation deals with communication technology. We will use two network utility programs, ping and traceroute, to determine the time it takes to send a packet from one host to another and the number of routers it passes through on the way. We will use programs with a command-line user interface, showing how that differs from a conventional window user interface. We will also see how to query the whois database and review prefixes for small quantities.
